As we head into our Busy Summer Season, we thought we would take a few minutes to answer some of the most frequently asked questions. If you don’t find your answer here, you can always give us a call or send us an email or message and we will be happy to answer your questions.

    1. When do you stock the pond? Currently we are scheduled to receive our first load of Fish on April 28-30. We will stock the pond at least once a week through the summer with our last stocking date being the week before Oktoberfest Weekend. We do not know exactly what day we will be stocking yet. It varies year to year and really depends on the schedule of our Hatchery. You can check in with us during the year to see what day may be the stocking day.
    2. Do you need a license to fish in the pond? No, you do not! Since our pond is a private pond and exclusively for the use of our guests, you do not need a New Mexico fishing License. You do need a license if you plan on fishing in the river or anywhere else in the area. Fishing licenses can be purchased at New Mexico Game and Fish Website https://wildlife.dgf.nm.gov/ you can get all the information there about pricing, day, requirements, ages etc.
    3. Do you have parking for trailers? Yes, we do! Depending on which cabin you rented there may be some limited space by the cabin to park your trailer. In addition, we also have parking on the North West corner of our property for Trailers. Please do not park close to the dumpsters or block access to the gate or our storage shed other than that we have plenty of space for your trailers.
    4. Can we drive our OHVs (Side by Side) and/or Golf Carts on the property and around Town? Yes you can. Currently you need an off-highway sticker from New Mexico or a neighboring state and the Red River Roads Paved Permit for OHVs and a license plate for your golf cart. All vehicles must be insured, driven by a licensed driver. Golf carts and OHVs can be operated on property and in town from 8:00 AM- 8:00 PM Mountain Time. Any use outside of these hours may result in a ticket. All passengers or drivers under the age of 18 must wear a NM Dot approved helmet. 3 or 4 Wheelers are not permitted on the roads on property or in town. For a complete set of rules please visit https://redriver.org/things-to-do/off-road-ohv/
    5. Are there hiking trails in the area? Yes, we have several trails that are great for hikers and riders. The Red River Nature Trail, Double Draw Loop, and Red River Ski Area Trails are easily accessed from our property and Middle Fork Lake trail nearby. These are more beginner to intermediate hikes 2 miles or less. For more advanced trails (5 miles plus) Goose Creek Trail, East Fork Trail to Horseshoe Lake and Wheeler Peak, Lost Lake Trail via Middle Fork Trail or East Fork Trail are all within a short drive of the property. If you’re looking for something a little different than these let us know and we will point you in the right direction. Trail maps can be purchased at Der Mrkt or The Red River Chamber of Commerce.
    6. Do you have outdoor grills on the property. Yes! We have several Grill and picnic areas strategically located around the property. Some cabins have their own grill area. All cabins have grilling utensils in the cabin for you to use. We try to keep the propane tanks filled but if one runs out let us know and we will be happy to swap it out with a new one. We do allow small smokers or charcoal grills to be used near the cabins as long as it is on a safe area and we are not under any fire restrictions. Some of our guests enjoy bringing a propane fire pit which we do allow if it is used on a road or gravel area, however we do not allow any outside wood burning fire pits or campfires on the property.
    7. Do you have a playground, games, or other outdoors activities? Yes, we do! We currently have a Fort complete with 3 swings and a slide at our main Playground area, 2 larger swings, and new for this summer we added a toddler fort with a smaller slide and swings. Adult supervision is required at all times in our playground area. Please make sure that your children are using the age-appropriate play areas. We also try to keep outdoor games like Corn hole and ladder ball available for our guests to use. We also have a disc golf basket in the Southwest corner of our property (for course suggestions ask Brian at the office or catch him on the property).
