Summertime, and the Fishing is Easy!
Red River’s summer month’s average high is around 75 degrees with a low at night in the 50s. At the Rio Colorado, we stock our private fishing pond with an average of 300 pounds of rainbow trout a week, to provide the ideal fishing experience for you and your family. Additionally there is stream fishing as well as other ponds in town and up in the higher elevations for the fishing enthusiast. There are plenty of hiking trails and off highway trails located in the area for your enjoyment on your OHV or high clearance 4WD vehicle.

The Red River Ski area offers great summer fun including: chair lift rides, summer tubing, disc golf, Hidden Treasure Ropes Course and the Pioneer Flyer Zip line. Go-karts, surreys, bicycles, ATVs and jeeps are all available to rent in town as well. Horseback riding is always a family favorite at the Red River stables just down the road from us. For those willing to drive about an hour and a half, white water rafting is done in Pilar, NM and your rafting trip can be booked in town. The Red River Community House hosts many family friendly activities daily, stop by and pick up a schedule of all the fun events. After all of your day’s activities come back to your cabin, sit back and relax on your porch and watch the sunset over the mountain.
