Hello Everyone,
We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We had a great weekend at Rio Colorado Cabins. We were almost full for the weekend, and it seemed as if everyone was enjoying themselves and having a great time, despite the unusual weather. We had a Thanksgiving day storm that was mostly a mix of rain and snow and by Friday morning had received an inch or 2 of snow, just a little bit short of the 6-8 inches predicted. The Red River Ski Area opened on Wednesday before Thanksgiving as usual but only had Gold Rush Hill and the beginner slopes open. The conditions were pretty good despite the lack of terrain available.
We did have a very nice early November snow storm that really helped kick things off for the Winter. We received about 14 inches of snow around the property. Of course with that amount of snow we spent most of the day plowing and clearing porches. All the predictions for the winter forecast are looking very favorable with above average snow accumulation, so hopefully that will translate into a great ski season and good winter business for us here at Rio Colorado. Speaking of which, we have some great new prices for the Winter season. We have actually lowered our prices for all of winter plus extended our January Bargain days to include the month of February this year (President’s Weekend excluded). So for the Month of January and February, if you book a reservation for 3 or more nights you will receive our Winter Bargain Days pricing which is about 30% off our regular rate. You can also keep up with us on our Facebook page and Instagram, you never know when we may be promoting a last minute special.
As we head into December and are getting ready for the Christmas and New year Holidays, we have already completed several projects including a kitchen and bathroom remodel, new windows and flooring for a few cabins, our new website is now live, we are working on a major upgrade to our WiFi, and we have a few other projects planned as well. We hope you all will come visit us this Winter and join us for some winter fun in the mountains. See you soon!
